Ontario manufacturer Reko International Group is investing approximately C$6.3 million in advanced manufacturing equipment and improvements at its Concorde Precision Machining operation in Lakeshore.

The investment includes a new FPT Dino Star machining centre, which is expected to at least double production capacity for a specific component supplied to an Ontario power-generation customer.

The project is supported by approximately C$1.3 million from the Ontario Together Trade Fund and is expected to protect 172 existing jobs while creating four new positions, supporting 176 Ontario jobs in total.

Reko said the new equipment will improve machining efficiency and productivity while giving the company additional capacity to respond to customer demand. The investment is also expected to strengthen Ontario-based manufacturing supply chains.

The announcement comes as Reko marks its 50th anniversary, with the company highlighting continued investment in technology, manufacturing capabilities and its workforce as part of its next phase of growth.

The Lakeshore operation specializes in machining large, complex and critical components, while Reko’s automation business develops custom industrial automation systems.
