Canadian construction giant Pomerleau has completed its acquisition of Quebec-based Groupe ALLEN, bringing together two companies with specialized expertise in infrastructure and construction.

Groupe ALLEN, founded in 1945, specializes in water treatment, process mechanics, directional drilling, formwork and earthworks. The company will become a subsidiary of Pomerleau while continuing to operate under the Groupe ALLEN name.

The companies say the combination comes as investment needs in water infrastructure are expected to increase, driven by aging infrastructure, population growth and changing environmental requirements.

Pomerleau said the acquisition will expand its expertise and increase its capacity to deliver larger infrastructure projects across Quebec and Canada, while creating additional growth opportunities for employees and partners.

Groupe ALLEN’s existing leadership and management team will remain in place, with clients, suppliers and specialized contractors continuing to work with the teams they already know. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Pomerleau currently employs more than 5,000 people and expects 2026 revenues of about C$7.5 billion, adding further scale to the combined construction and infrastructure business.
