Ottawa Delivery Driver Charged Following Alleged Indecent Incident at Fitzroy Provincial Park

An Ottawa man is facing criminal and traffic-related charges following an alleged incident at Fitzroy Provincial Park that prompted an investigation by Ontario Provincial Police.

According to police, a park employee reported witnessing a delivery driver engaging in an alleged indecent act while making eye contact with her shortly before 1:30 p.m. on May 28.

Authorities said the employee immediately sought assistance after becoming concerned by the man's behaviour. Shortly afterward, she reportedly heard a loud crash and observed a delivery van leaving the park at a high rate of speed.

Investigators allege the vehicle struck and damaged the park's front gate while exiting the property.

As a result of the investigation, a 31-year-old Ottawa resident has been charged with committing an indecent act in a public place and careless driving.

Police confirmed the accused is scheduled to appear in an Ottawa court at a later date.

The allegations have not been tested or proven in court.

Fitzroy Provincial Park, a popular recreational destination located approximately 60 kilometres northwest of Ottawa, remained open following the incident.
