Canada is preparing for the return of Culture Days 2026, a nationwide celebration designed to bring communities together through arts, culture, heritage and creative expression.

The national celebration begins September 18 and runs through October 4, giving Canadians several weeks to participate in cultural activities taking place in communities across the country.

Culture Days gives artists, cultural organizations and local communities an opportunity to showcase their work while allowing the public to experience creative activities, performances, workshops and behind-the-scenes cultural programs.

Cities are already preparing local programming. In Oakville, Ontario, for example, organizers have announced more than 130 free local events, offering residents opportunities to explore artistic expression and participate in hands-on activities.

The annual celebration also highlights the diversity of Canada's cultural landscape, bringing together professional artists, community groups, heritage organizations and emerging creators.

The 2026 edition arrives at a time when communities are placing greater emphasis on accessible cultural programming, giving families and visitors opportunities to engage with local artists and traditions without the cost of traditional cultural events.

With activities planned across the country, Culture Days is expected to provide a major national platform for Canadian arts, cultural heritage and community creativity this fall.
