ORFORD, Quebec — October 10, 2026 The Government of Canada has announced $334,750 in new funding for Orford Music, supporting its annual festival and year-round concert programming in Quebec’s Eastern Townships.

The announcement, made on October 9 by Canadian Heritage Minister Marc Miller, comes as the organisation marks 75 years of musical and artistic programming. The investment through the Canada Arts Presentation Fund is intended to help Orford Music present concerts, develop original programming and support emerging performers.

Orford Music hosts an international festival and presents concerts throughout the year, while its educational activities help young musicians develop their skills. The organisation’s 2026 festival featured 19 headline concerts, including four sold-out performances, according to the federal announcement.

The new funding builds on $721,028 previously provided through the Canada Cultural Spaces Fund for infrastructure renovation and modernisation. Together, the investments support the organisation’s cultural programming and its role in the region’s arts community.

The announcement highlights the continued role of public funding in supporting Canadian music festivals, professional performance opportunities and arts education outside major urban centres.
