TIFF 2026 Builds Momentum Ahead of September Festival
The Toronto International Film Festival is moving into one of its busiest pre-festival periods, with ticket sales becoming a major focus ahead of the 2026 edition.
TIFF members can access the member pre-sale from August 24, while tickets for the general public are scheduled to go on sale on August 31 at noon.
The 51st edition of TIFF runs from September 10 to 20, 2026, bringing international and Canadian filmmakers, actors and audiences to Toronto.
TIFF has already released its full 2026 festival schedule, allowing audiences to plan screenings across the festival's official selection.
The festival's programming includes major sections covering feature films, short films, contemporary cinema and special presentations. Its Short Cuts programme alone includes 45 short films, highlighting the continued importance of emerging filmmakers and shorter-form storytelling.
For Toronto's creative economy, the festival is also an important annual meeting point for the Canadian film industry, international distributors, filmmakers and entertainment professionals.
With public ticket sales approaching, competition for high-profile screenings is expected to intensify.
TIFF 2026 is now shifting from programme announcements to audience demand, setting the stage for another major September showcase of Canadian and international cinema.
