Kristi Noem Joins NovaRed Mining as Strategic Advisor

Former U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security and current Special Envoy for the Shield of the Americas, Kristi L. Noem, has been appointed to a strategic advisory role at Vancouver-based mineral exploration company NovaRed Mining Inc.

In an announcement released by the company, NovaRed said Noem will help support its efforts to identify and advance critical mineral exploration projects through its artificial intelligence-driven technology platform. The company believes her experience in public policy, economic development, and government relations will strengthen its long-term growth strategy.

Noem served as Secretary of Homeland Security before being reassigned in March by President Donald Trump to serve as Special Envoy for the Shield of the Americas, a position focused on strengthening security partnerships across the Western Hemisphere. Trump praised Noem's work during her tenure, particularly her efforts on border security, while announcing her new role.

During her time leading the Department of Homeland Security, Noem faced scrutiny over the administration's immigration policies and departmental spending. Critics also raised concerns regarding incidents involving immigration enforcement operations during her tenure.

NovaRed highlighted Noem's extensive background in infrastructure, energy, agriculture, national security, and public-private partnerships. The company said her expertise in regulatory affairs, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning will help guide future development opportunities.
