Toronto police are searching for a fourth suspect after three people were arrested in an alleged attempted break-in involving a firearm in the city’s east end.
According to the Toronto Police Service, officers responded to a residence near Danforth Avenue and Greenwood Avenue at approximately 8:24 p.m. on October 16. Investigators allege that four suspects damaged the home’s front door and that one displayed a firearm before the group fled in a dark-coloured vehicle.
Police later executed a search warrant at a Toronto residence on October 19. Investigators reported seizing a loaded Glock 45 handgun and an extended magazine. Two women, both aged 20, were arrested on firearm-related charges, while a 19-year-old man from Ajax was charged with break-and-enter with intent.
The fourth suspect, Andre Herbert, 18, of Toronto, remains wanted, police said. He faces allegations including uttering threats, carrying a concealed weapon, pointing a firearm and attempted break-and-enter.
Police are asking anyone with information about the incident or the suspect’s whereabouts to contact 55 Division at 416-808-5500 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
The investigation remains ongoing. The allegations have not been proven in court, and the accused are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
