Toronto police have arrested four men accused of breaking into a downtown building to take rooftop photographs for social media, in an incident that allegedly involved assaults on two building staff members.

According to police reporting, officers responded on October 18 near Bremner Boulevard and Lower Simcoe Street after receiving reports that four individuals had entered a restricted area without authorization and accessed the rooftop.

Investigators allege the group assaulted a security guard and a building manager while attempting to flee. All four suspects were arrested nearby.

The accused are aged 18 to 20 and are from Newmarket, Toronto, Welland and St. Catharines. They face charges including break and enter, assault, assault with intent to resist arrest and possession of break-and-enter instruments. One suspect faces an additional charge of breaching probation.

Police are investigating whether the suspects may be connected to other break-ins across Toronto and are asking anyone with relevant information to contact investigators.

The incident raises concerns about dangerous rooftop trespassing and unauthorized access to restricted buildings in the city. The allegations have not been proven in court, and the accused are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
