Canadian technology company MOBIA Technology Innovations has completed a management buyout, marking a new phase for the more than 40-year-old business.

Announced on October 14, 2026, the transaction is led by former MOBIA vice-president Chris Peerless, who will take over as president and chief executive officer. The company says it plans to build on its existing customer relationships while expanding its technical capabilities across Canada.

MOBIA’s priorities include data and artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, and cybersecurity. These areas are increasingly important as organizations modernize their IT systems, deploy AI applications and strengthen protection against digital threats.

The company also plans to continue investing in Canadian employees and expanding its team in technical and customer-facing roles, including solutions architecture and enterprise sales.

Former owners Mike Reeves and Rob Lane have retained selected resources that are being launched under a new brand, Kinovo Consulting. MOBIA and Kinovo intend to collaborate as partners.

The ownership transition comes as businesses face growing demand for integrated technology services that connect AI tools with reliable infrastructure and security.
